Getting Started with SplitEase

SplitEase makes it easy to track shared expenses with friends, roommates, travel companions, or anyone you split costs with. No more spreadsheets, no more awkward "who owes what" conversations.

Sign in with your Google account to get started. That's it — no passwords to remember, no forms to fill out.

How It Works

SplitEase follows a simple flow: create a group, add expenses as they happen, and settle up when you're ready.

1. Create a Group

A group is a shared space for tracking expenses between a set of people. You might create one for a weekend trip, a shared apartment, or a regular dinner crew. Give it a name, pick a default currency, and optionally add an emoji icon.

2. Invite Friends

Add members to your group by sending email invitations. You can also create placeholder members for people who aren't on SplitEase yet — their expenses will be linked to their account once they join.

3. Add Expenses

Whenever someone pays for something, log it in the group. Enter the amount, choose who paid, and pick how to split it — equally, by percentage, by exact amounts, or proportionally.

4. View Balances

SplitEase keeps a running tally of who owes whom. It automatically minimizes the number of payments needed to settle up, so instead of everyone paying everyone else, you get the simplest set of transfers.

5. Settle Up

When it's time to pay up, record the payment in SplitEase. This adjusts everyone's balances accordingly.
